A 3D printed padding
L’Evolution of digital 3D printing has allowed us to develop a new saddle without the constraints or limitations imposed by production methods and traditional materials. L’Padding of the adaptive saddle is made by Carbon using its revolutionary Digital Light Synthesis technology. DLS is an additive production process that uses the projection of digital ultraviolet light, oxygen permeable optics and programmable liquid resins to produce parts with excellent mechanical properties, resolution and surface finish.
Tailor -made zonal cushioning
Thanks to Carbon technology, biomechanical and engineers have an unprecedented possibility: to design and create multiple functional areas within the saddle, adjusting each of them separately for specific mechanical properties. Each of these key functional areas is designed with a distinctive mechanical amount and mechanical response, gradually and seamlessly united in the same padding.
Tested in the laboratory, tried on the road
Professional cyclists and amateur cyclists have been tested both in the Fizik workshops and on the road. During each phase of development, each iteration has been carefully tested. Great attention was paid to understanding how the pressure models change based on different geometries of the bike, driving positions and driving styles.
From the idea, directly to the scalable production
Thanks to this unique combination of process and material, we have been given the opportunity to develop a product five times faster, creating and testing hundreds of iterations on the field. Being applicable to mass production, this technology completely redesigns the traditional production process, accelerating and jumping all the intermediate phases.
Long -lasting performance
The saddle is very easy to clean. Even with the dirtier road mud, everything you need to do is simply wash it with water. Everything that enters, comes out. L’We have subjected to the most severe tests, simulating L’accelerated aging, L’UV aging and wear resistance following rigorous protocols.
