The Merida Scultura 5000 Road Bike has the style of pro team Bahrain McLaren and the versatility to go all day long in training or on race day. It all comes back to Merida’s CF2 Carbon Frame which gives you smooth, vibration killing ride that can act as the training or race day bike for the everyday rider. If you’re rolling on a flat out carbon machine you want a quality groupset and you really can’t go wrong with2x11 speed Shimano Ultegra. Ultegra is incredibly smooth and offers an all-around awesome riding experience, packing a 50-34 crankset and 11-30 cassette. Disc brakes now comes as standard on the Scultura and the 5000 rolls with Ultegra Hydraulic Disc Brakes for all-weather control and certainly gives you some extra confidence on the road.
The finishing kit is almost all Merida and it still has a very clean look and fast feel. The main difference between the 5000 and the 6000 is the Ultegra Crankset on the 6000 instead of and Rs510 Crankset and the speedy Fulcrum Racing 700DB Wheels instead of Merida’s own Expert SL Wheels. Yet it is still a nice improvement over the 2×11 Speed Shimano 105 on the Scultura 4000. The Merida Scultura 5000 brings pro level style with performance to match, feel like you’re on team Bahrain McLaren with this speed machine from Merida.
Aero Profiled Tubing: Our wind tunnel learnings from the REACTO design project have been used to create a smaller aerodynamically optimised NACA Fastback tube profile. The more extreme truncation of the teardrop shaped tubes enables perfect airflow at the lowest possible weight.
Precise Steering: All SCULTURA models feature a full carbon fork with a tapered steerer to give precise confidence-inspiring steering. Alloy and CF2 carbon models feature a regular 1 1/8″ to 1 1/2″ taper. The high-end CF4 frame has a slimmed down front profile and uses a 1 1/8″ to 1 1/4″ taper.
Bolt Through Axles: All SCULTURA DISC bikes feature 12 mm bolt through axles for greater wheel stiffness and precise disc alignment when replacing wheels. The axle lever is removable and has a 4 mm Allen key included, so for example stem, seat post clamp screws can be tightened and loosened.
Disc Cooling Technology: A forged aluminium part under the rear disc brake caliper draws heat away through CNC-milled cooling fins giving 35 % less heat build-up and faster temperature reduction for a stable braking performance.
Tyre Clearance: The SCULTURA DISC version can be fitted with 28 mm wide tyres, providing maximum traction and transferring the improved braking power to the road. The maximum tyre width for the rim version is 25 mm.
