The chain in its apparent simplicity performs a critical and fundamental function for the safety of the cyclist and to optimize LThe whole mechanism of the transmission. The new Super Record 12 Speed chain has also had to be redesigned to be able to interface with all the other new components of the transmission. The first and fundamental goal was therefore to reduce the dimensions. Now the width is 5.15mm also thanks to the new pins perfectly aligned with the external surface of the shirts. The second goal was to safeguard its performance thanks to the ultra-link system that gives the safety and duration to the chain and to a special treatment that guarantees very high smoothness and precision in the change.
